I read your post before you edited it, and thought, the realities of Animal Husbandry can be cruel but necessary at times. Glad to see you made it there safely.
I made sure with Dave that it was OK I post things online and he seemed a little uncomfortable with that being taken out of context. He was pretty upset about his hen, too. He talks to them like they are his daughters...
